Charleston Tennis Adult Tournament Recap

The first verified UTR prize money tournament powered by SportMaster is now in Charleston Tennis Circuit history books... And it turned out to be an incredible 4-day event.

Players enjoyed the highest level of UTR competition, spectators were able to witness some great tennis and cheer on their players, and our Game Changers, including Corrective Chiropractic, enjoyed connecting with the tennis world. We welcomed more than 500+ participants, spectators, supporters and partners at the I'ON Tennis Club over the span of the tournament.

On the women's side, Emma Shelton (currently playing for the University of South Carolina) won in 3 sets 4:6 6:4 1:0 (8) an incredible final in singles against Kennedy Shaffler and took home the Charleston Tennis Circuit prize money championship. In doubles Emma was also successful with her partner, Allie Gretkowski , and took the victory over Khyanna Singh and her doubles partner, Madalina Man (both currently playing for Charleston Southern University) .

David Durham held up the singles championship trophy at the end of the week by overcoming the number #1 seed in the final Vasile Ghilea 2:6 6:3 1:0 (9). The match was filled with spectacular tennis and a nail-biting super tiebreaker. In doubles, Patrick Hieber and Oliver Crawford won the match with a very solid performance 6:2 6:3 against the Romanian friends, Vasile Ghilea and Iustin Baciu.

Adult Round Robin Tournament

With having two tournaments in one weekend, there was so much tennis to be enjoyed by all! Our adult round-robin players each competed in 3 matches and ultimately to become the winner of their respective groups. It was truly a rewarding experience getting to see all of the varying levels, genders and ages play a sport that brings them all together.
