It was an amazing weekend on June 19-21, 2020 thanks to all tennis players, partners and supporters! CTC welcomed 60 junior tennis players from various states including Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina at the Tennis Facility at Wild Dunes. Our tournament was conducted with strict COVID-19 guidelines in place to ensure the safety of all participating parties. With not being able to compete in any tournament setting for the last few months, players appeared eager to be back on the court again while parents were just as enthusiastic to be supporting from the sidelines. Each player was able to play 3 level-based verified UTR matches in a round-robin format. Throughout the tournament, we were able to showcase a fun and competitive atmosphere to be enjoyed by all.

Announcement of Award Winners
At our junior tennis tournaments, players are able to compete for two awards: Sportsmanship: For participants who best represent sportsmanship conduct throughout the tournament. Top Performer Award: As the tournament does not have an elimination draw with a winner at the end, we count each game won as 1 point and each match won as 3 points during the first three matches played. The male and female player with most points collected will win this award.
We are happy to announce the winners of our female and male Sportsmanship and Top Performer Awards. We congratulate Lily Zimmermann and Isaac Szilagyi for winning the Top Scorer Award and Riley Young and Aidan Brusman for earning the Sportsmanship Award. Way to stand out on the court!
Tournament Feedback
During the tournament, we asked players and coaches about their experience and the round-robin format. Zach Boost is a tennis coach from North Carolina and created the Bost Kirven Tennis Academy He joined our junior tennis tournament at Wild Dunes with a group of 5 players from North Carolina and shared his experience as a coach in a short video. We were thrilled to hear from a coach's perspective that he supports the competitive match play and round-robin format that we implemented.
